nice stand, paint has faded a bit after a year being stored outside exposed to the elements, but isn't peeling or exposing any metal. There are 3 segments, they all fit together easily and are reinforced to prevent breakage or bending, but they're freely attached. So if you need to go your hammock stand you'll need 2 people unless you push it, if you pull it, one of the angled arms will slide out of the horizontal bar. You could probably fix this yourself by drilling a hole through the bottom (horizontal) bar and into one of the arms to screw in a bolt, but the steel is very thick, about 3/16" or 1/4" thick.

After 2 tries finally got it; my wife ordered it for me(to go w/matching hammock) and after a month Amazon had to credit her cc because UPS sent it back due to hurt. I order it and get in 2 weeks.It's simple to assemble/disassemble. If you buy it go out and get 2"S" hooks mine were missing(seems other reviewers had same issue). I did call their 800# and was happily accomodated by the pleasant operator who apologized and is sending out the hooks. I still give it high ratings based on simple assemble. I can't wait for my hooks--going out to see if I can find some today so I can delight in it w/our 16mth ancient son!

I was surprised to find someone with the same problem. Neither the hammock stand package nor the hammock package contained the necessary accessories to hang the hammock! We've had this stand for 3 years & have always loved our hammock, but yesterday we went to use it & the wood snapped in half right at the metal connector right as my husband sat down in it. As if it wasn't terrible enough that our awesome hammock broke, the beam smacked him in the shoulder when it snapped.

It was all very sudden & unexpected. For such an expensive hammock - especially one that claims it is "long lasting" - we were quite disappointed.

Buy this! I got this for my husband for his birthday and he likes it. He really place it up in our basement (to watch TV!) until it was warm enough to take it outside. Highly recommended. It is sturdy and a bit heavy but at long as you buy the wheels, it's simple to go. I got the hammock itself at The Home Depot in the fall for about $30. Wait for the end of season sale for that part.

After reading the reviews from other people, I wasn't sure if the hammock stand would come intact. It did. The box had no marks or tears and the stand was not scrathed in any way. It was very simple to assemble- it only took 5 miutes! We have been using this since we bought it without any problems or complaints. I would recommend it to anyone plotting on purchasing a hammock stand. You will not regret purchasing this one.

The stand is very sturdy and literally snaps together. It is heavy. The stand consists of two 'feet' - shorter tubes with a connecting cross piece in a 'v' that the longer tubes snap into and secure with a spring-loaded button. The tubes fit loosely so that the end piece will wiggle back and forth. I believe this is a feature though. It allows the stand to be place together and taken apart easily. When there is weight pressing down on the ends of the stand, the tubes do not wiggle.

The product would be at four stars except that the box that the stand arrived in was blown out on one end and whatever packaging was supposed to keep the tubes secured and protected had failed. The tubes were essentially loose in the box. As a result, there was some minor scratching of the stand. Given the state the box and packaging was in when it arrived, I expected more hurt. It wasn't enough for me to bother with trying to return it.

The Pawleys Island Tri-Beam textured steel hammock stand was worth every cent of the pruchase. I researched a lot of stands and found this to be the best deal for its price. The delivery of the item was fine. No hurt as was reported in the past. The assembly was so simple! NO screwdrivers, hammers or even a man needed! The appearance was fantastic. Nice lines and a fine deep green color with a bit of texture to the poles. As far as weight bearing, I have had over 300 lbs of people piled on our hammock and felt no worries. A truly fine buy.

I was a small nervous ordering this item as I read reviews that said the box is very hurt when it arrives. It arrived in perfect condition, no hurt to box whatever. It is so well made it should last for quite a long time. My husband is not very handy, but for him, putting it together was a piece of cake. One, two, three, and it was together and ready to hang our Pawley's Island Hammock. Two people can certainly go it to another spot if needed. I highly recommend this stand, trust me it is just perfect!

My hammock stand bent terribly out of shape. I've replaced the bolts, and hope the dents in the frame won't cause the new bolts to also bend.
The largest weight I've had it support are two fifteen-year-ancient girls -- possibly a combined weight of 225? Seems like the frame should've outlasted four months and two teens...

I got stand together with the large green/white stripes hammock as a package deal with free shipping. The stand and hammock arrived within a week on the same day in 2 different packages. The stand is simple to place together. It is very sturdy and easily hold 2 average size people. Moving is simple if you have 2 people. The actual stand is larger than I expected, it is around 15' long and pretty heavy. The roman arc shape is a nice touch. I check prices on specialty hammock store and they are nearly twice as much as the price I paid before shipping.

It is a fantastic stand. The largest factor for me was motility. As the sun passes a certain section of trees in my backyard, I can easily go the stand to sit comfortably in the shade.

It is very sturdy, attractive, and the shape is pleasing. It is larger than it appears in the picture, and accomadates a fifteen foot hammock.

It comes with these "Z" hooks that makes it incredibly simple to take the hammock down and place it up again. Moreover, assembly took a matter of minutes - you'll need a flathead screwdriver and a 9/16th ratchet/wrench. One person assembly.

I happened to catch the stand on sale, which of course sweetened the incentive significantly. The super saver shipping only took a few days to arrive. But, the stand was not in stock and it took some time to "re-order" from the manufacturer.

Overall, if you don't mind the potential wait - you will adore the time you spend reading/relaxing in the hammock you obtain to go with this stand.

The first thing you'll notice is that this thing is *heavy*. 600lbs might be accurate; any hammock will certainly give out first. It comes in 5 pieces (2 legs with angles welded onto them, and 3 equal straight pieces), plus end-caps and 2 asymmetrical S-hooks. It fits together without tools. It feels very well made.

My only issue is that it's really long, and not as high/deep as I'd like. I have no problem right now (just double up my ropes again), but if my hammock stretches a lot I can imagine it might sag too low someday. It would be nice if the end pieces came up at a steeper angle.

Be sure to check out the other colors: it comes in 3 or 4, though they're not all in one place like some amazon.com products. I ordered the first one I found, and when I saw the others I emailed the seller (hammockcompany.com) that night, and they swapped the order before it went out. Awesome.
