Buy this! I got this for my husband for his birthday and he likes it. He really place it up in our basement (to watch TV!) until it was warm enough to take it outside. Highly recommended. It is sturdy and a bit heavy but at long as you buy the wheels, it's simple to go. I got the hammock itself at The Home Depot in the fall for about $30. Wait for the end of season sale for that part.

After reading the reviews from other people, I wasn't sure if the hammock stand would come intact. It did. The box had no marks or tears and the stand was not scrathed in any way. The stand is very sturdy and literally snaps together. It is heavy. The stand consists of two 'feet' - shorter tubes with a connecting cross piece in a 'v' that the longer tubes snap into and secure with a spring-loaded button. The tubes fit loosely so that the end piece will wiggle back and forth. I believe this is a feature though. It allows the stand to be place together and taken apart easily. When there is weight pressing down on the ends of the stand, the tubes do not wiggle.

The product would be at four stars except that the box that the stand arrived in was blown out on one end and whatever packaging was supposed to keep the tubes secured and protected had failed. The tubes were essentially loose in the box. As a result, there was some minor scratching of the stand. Given the state the box and packaging was in when it arrived, I expected more hurt. It wasn't enough for me to bother with trying to return it.

The Pawleys Island Tri-Beam textured steel hammock stand was worth every cent of the pruchase. I researched a lot of stands and found this to be the best deal for its price. The delivery of the item was fine. No hurt as was reported in the past. The assembly was so simple! NO screwdrivers, hammers or even a man needed! The appearance was fantastic. Nice lines and a fine deep green color with a bit of texture to the poles. As far as weight bearing, I have had over 300 lbs of people piled on our hammock and felt no worries. A truly fine buy.

I was a small nervous ordering this item as I read reviews that said the box is very hurt when it arrives. It arrived in perfect condition, no hurt to box whatever. It is so well made it should last for quite a long time. My husband is not very handy, but for him, putting it together was a piece of cake. One, two, three, and it was together and ready to hang our Pawley's Island Hammock. Two people can certainly go it to another spot if needed. The stand is sturdy, and nicely built. Simple to assemble, and will have a small footprint if you want to store it. One thing I don't like is that is very hard to go when assembled because it will come apart when you try pulling it to go it from one place to another in your backyard. I wonder if they should have added some fasteners of some sort. If you want to go it, always push.... never pull. Other than that, is a excellent product.

This stand appears to be sturdy and is super simple to set up. The hammock I originally had on it would cause the whole stand to tip over in a moderate wind (10 mph). It would probably be more suitable for a string/rope hammock that did not have so much wind resistance. The jury is still out on how it holds up being out in the damp southeast Texas weather.

Fantastic deal and lots of fun! This is a fantastic stand. As the other reviewers said, one person can easily set it up and hang a hammock with no help at all. It holds me (250+ lbs) and feels quite sturdy and safe. BUT if your hammock is less than 11 or 12 ft from tip to tail, you'll need to buy more chain. I'm not complaining, but I thought others would want to know.

It's designed in Germany and mfgd in China. I'd say CERTAINLY locate and buy the extension kit. I did. I have a large Guatemalan hammock that I've owned for years that's barely seen any use -- usually on camping trips. The cloth that you lay on was so narrow I couldn't have gotten comfortable and as soon as you sat on it you felt like you were tipping over.Only tried it once and knew it had been a mistake. I juts received this couple of days ago. The worst thing about this is that they have stuck warning/disclaimer papers all over the wood. They have used such cheap paper and glue that you just can't remove it neatly. You hot to scrape it with your nails and still leaves sticky glue all over the wood. Alternatively you can leave the hideous warning papers as a decor!.

This is ultra overpriced item, can't Miyo still use some excellent quality paper and glue that can come off easily? How much greedy they are keep their margin and profit on this? some idiot must have designed the warning marks.

As per the quality of the wood and stand itself it is pretty excellent. The stand is slightly wobbly but should not be an issue I reckon.

We received this hammock as a gift but returned it because the hammock is made of padded material, nearly like a bedding. This is comfortable I'm sure, but we live in a very rainy area where that type of material would deteriorate quickly. So we are opting for the traditionally cord style. I like the width of this product. My husband now lays on the hammock more than me because he likes the padding in the fabric. My only two negative comments would be that on windy days the hammock spins around itself a lot and I despise leaving it out in the rain (not to mention it gets pooped on by birds occasionally). I bought this hammock as a Fathers Day gift. Did not want to go in too deep dollar wise till I knew wether we would really use a hammock. This product is just perfect, comfortable, excellent looking, has withstood a few romping sessions with the grand son. I did have to retie certain knots to make a more comfortable shape. The knots were too tight and it was hard to stay in the center. Also had to place swivel hooks on it because a slight breeze wants to spin the hammock, since it really is a huge sail. I did not want to have to take it down and place it up after every use. So for the $'s it is satisfactory

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FOR ANYONE! IT IS PERILOUS!
My daughters and I bought the hammock for Father's Day and gave it to my husband. After setting it up, my husband and 15 year ancient got on the hammock. It was hard getting on without flipping the other person off. When trying to get off the hammock someone always landed on the ground or on the stand poll which runs underneather the hammock. My oldest daughter finished up with bruises on her elbow and a lump on her back. My 12 year ancient and husband both (in seperate occasions) landed on their backs. No matter how careful we were trying to get on and off of the hammock (scooting to the middle and so on). We all,in turn, finished up on the ground and hurt. I am returning the product! It is Perilous! We have owned hammocks in the past and I know that you have to be careful getting on and off of them, but this is rediculous!!!

I would advise anyone aganist buying this product. I bought it as a birthday gift for my father. I went to his house to set it up while he was gone and was going to test it out before I left. I got in the hammock and laid there for about 10 when one of the links in the chain broke causing me to fall over a foot onto the concrete patio below on my back. If you look at the picutres, there's a metal bar running across the middle that I fell on as well. Calling Texsport only offered to send me a new chain. I don't expect to be sent all kinds of money for it, but I don't reckon just sending me a new chain makes it right. This is not a product I feel I can trust.
