Excellent support for a huge guy

I just set mine up the other day and I must say I am very impressed! I am a huge guy (6’0 / 250 lbs) and my wife and I both laid on here comfortably and it felt secure. I am not handy in the least and it was literally a snap to setup. You snap the metal poles into each other, unbelievably simple. I checked out the reviews and prices for a couple different stands on Amazon and am very pleased that I went with this one.

Wow, should have read these reviews…this one initially arrived looking like jackals had chewed on it. The box was really beat up. There was really no packing material to speak of and it was missing one of the small cross-pieces and all of the caps for the ends of the poles. It was a huge pain to return, mainly because it was too heavy for me to lift into my car. The second one did arrive promptly, intact, with much better packaging…odd.

My family has always used Pawley’s Island hammocks and stands, and they’re fantastic. I’d give the product itself 5 stars, but this was such a huge pain, I had to mark it down. If they’re available in a store near you, I’d recommend buying it there, even if Amazon saves some money!

Very Sturdy and simple to go

Have had one of these hammock stands for 3 years. It is very sturdy and simple to assemble. The only gripe I have is that the powder coating is not fantastic and it has already started minor rusting.

We bought our Pawley’s Island Storage Bag as well as the Pawley’s Island Trelis Stripped Gardens Collection Large Quilted DuraCord Fabric Hammock, Pawleys Island Tri-Beam Textured Steel Hammock Stand and Pawleys-Island-Hammock-Wheel-Kit the summer of 2009. Our Pawley’s Island Hammock is simple to assemble and disassemble. Everything stores easily because the stand breaks apart and the hammock slips easily into the storage bag. We appreciate the quality of the steel because it has not rusted and it is outside all summer rain or shine.

We like our Pawley’s Island Hammock because it is strong and the most comfortable hammock we have ever relaxed within. It is simple to enter and exit. It sits in direct sunlight from the south all summer and hasn’t faded a bit. Our Pawley’s Island Hammock held my husband, myself, 3 small dogs and 5 medium/large dogs all at the same time giving you an thought of it’s strength and size. (One of our medium/large dogs passed which is why I wrote held)

We bought everything from Amazon at reasonable prices. We like it all the Pawley’s Island Storage Bag, Hammock, Stand and Wheel Kit. The wheel kit allows an older child or adult to go the hammock by themselves.

Our favorite pastime is for the 9 of us to climb into the hammock and delight in the night sky. Meteor showers are the best!

Fantastic heavy duty hammock stand

We got this hammock stand for a double rope hammock that we went from our last house. It’s a very heavy stand and was simple to place together because you don’t need any tools, it just snaps together with spring loaded buttons and holes. It took me 10 minutes or less to assemble, with just a glance at the instructions. There are only 8 parts and I probably could have done it without the instructions. In the box it was very heavy, but somehow, when it’s assembled, it’s pretty simple to drag around to find a shady spot.

The stand comes with 2 chains and 4 “S” hooks to connect your hammock. The only hard part was stretching the rope hammock so it was taut enough that it didn’t hang too low when someone climbed into it. It took another person helping me, one to pull on the hammock and the other to fasten the hook and chain. It says it holds up to 450 pounds so it’s fantastic for 2 person hammocks. It has a very sturdy feel to it and the powder coating looks nice. It will also disassemble just as easily as it assembled and it fits into a box that’s pretty compact so it will be simple to store, come winter.

Along with my Kindle this will be a fantastic way to spend some bone idle summer afternoons.
